Family Programs

Participating children must be accompanied by at least one adult at all times. For tickets, registration, and information, call the Box Office at 212.620.5000 x344. Ticket fees: $10 per child ($5 for children of RMA members); Free for accompanying adults, children 12 months and younger, and Cool Culture members. Tickets include gallery admission and are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. All programs are subject to change. 

Word Play! Creative Storytelling Program

Wednesdays 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Travel to the Himalayas with your imagination through a series of fun and engaging stories that will appeal to the whole family.

For children ages four to six and their adult friends. Program meets in the studio.

The Yak Packers Early Childhood Art Program

Thursdays 10:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.

Let’s look at, touch, and explore Himalayan art inspired by the RMA collection.

For children ages two to four and their adult friends. Program meets in the studio.

Moving through Art Early Childhood Program

Fridays 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Translate visual art into imaginative poses, movement, and sound.

For children ages three to five and their adult friends. Classes meet in the theater.

Family Workshops

Saturdays 2:00–3:00 p.m.

Explore intriguing paintings, sculptures, and objects in our exhibitions and let them inspire your own works of art.

For ages 6 and up and their adult friends. Program meets in the studio or the theater.

Storytelling and Movement Family Tours

Second and last Saturdays of each month 1:00-1:30 p.m.

Travel to the Himalayas with your imagination through a series of fun and engaging stories that will appeal to the whole family. Storytelling tours include puppets, games, and movement activities.

For ages 6 and older and their adult friends. Program meets at the base of the spiral staircase.
