School Tours
A field trip to the Rubin Museum of Art is an exciting way to enhance your curriculum and expand student learning. The museum's tours for school groups are designed to introduce and develop knowledge of Himalayan traditions while encouraging meaningful explorations of the art. Museum guides can adapt tours to meet specific curricular connections. Tours last one hour, and you and your students are welcome to continue exploring the museum on your own afterward if your schedule permits.
Tour Availability
The Rubin Museum offers school tours beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays and beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Tour Fees
Free for all K–12 public school groups. For all other K–12 school and university groups regular admission fees apply.

To schedule your school tour at the Rubin Museum, please complete a visit registration form & e-mail reservations@rmanyc.org or call 212.620.5000 x345.
Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance. One guide is assigned to every fifteen people. Group menus are available from Serai. Please review our group visit outlines prior to your scheduled visit.

Tour + Art Workshop Package
Schedule a hands-on arts workshop to complement and enhance your school group's guided tour! In these sixty-minute, interactive experiences in our new state-of-the-art Education Center, students will further explore the symbolism and structure of Himalayan art by using our teaching collection and making their own works art using elements of design, self-expression, and imagination.
Fee: $150 per class (in addition to regular admission and tour fees)
Students and teachers will receive family passes for a complimentary future visit to the museum.

K–12 Self-Guided Visits
Unable to schedule a tour with a guide? We welcome any group to come and experience a self-guided visit. These groups should still schedule their visit in advance and all group visit guidelines still apply. Visit the K–12 Self-Guided Visits page for more information and registration forms.
