Spiral Lobby
The Spiral Lobby is adjacent to the primary entrance to the museum and features a dramatic staircase designed by Andrée Putman. Adorned with a copper “cloud wall” designed by Milton Glaser and a sleek French limestone floor, the spiral is used either alone or in tandem with the colonnade and theater.

Colonnade
The Colonnade is a spectacular arcaded venue with rows of stunning columns.
Total area: 3,850 square feet
Capacity: 220 for dinner or 400 for a reception
Theater
The theater at RMA is ideal for business presentations, films, lectures, readings, and small performance events. The venue is equipped with comfortable removable seating for custom set-up and features a stage, fully equipped AV booth, green room, optional podium, and projection screen.
Total area: 1,400 square feet
Capacity: 137 as theater style, or 100 as cabaret style. The theater can also be used for private receptions (80) and small dinner receptions (60).
Combined Spaces
Commonly, the spiral and colonnade are used in conjunction. The theater and lower level gallery can then be used as a caterer’s prep area.

Galleries at RMA
The museum features 6 floors of rotating exhibitions from the regions of the Himalayas. One or more galleries are available for viewing for all events. (No food or beverages are allowed in the galleries.)
