Himalayan Art Encounters:
3-Session Classroom Collaboration

Make Himalayan Asia come alive! This enrichment program for schools includes two personalized ninety-minute visits from a museum educator and an extraordinary ninety-minute guided tour of the museum. Combining interactive discussions with hands-on experience, students learn to create their own meaningful connections to the culture and history of the Himalayas.

Popular curriculum connections include the Silk Road, World Communities, Chinese and Indian history, Buddhist and Hindu visual art, and Comparative Religion units.

  • $500 per program (up to 32 students per residency)
  • Two 90-minute in-school sessions
  • One customized 90-minute museum visit
  • Planning meeting with museum educator to ensure curriculum integration

  • Monday: 11 a.m – 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday: Closed
  • Wednesday: 11 a.m – 7 p.m.
  • Thursday: 11 a.m – 5 p.m.
  • Friday: 11 a.m – 10 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m – 6 p.m.

  • The museum is closed on Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Day.

  • The Café and the Shop are open during the museum hours.

  • Museum members - Free
  • Gallery admission is free every Friday from 6-10 p.m.
  • Gallery admission is free for seniors (65 and older) on the first Monday of every month.
