Plants and Animals of the Himalayas


March 29-April 2, 2010
Monday through Friday, 2:00-5:00 p.m.

$75 (fee includes museum admission and all materials)

In this week-long intensive program we will explore representations of plants and animals in Himalayan art, working with pencil, watercolor, gouache, and ink to bring to life to symbolic figures. Participants will draw from life and sketch from masterworks in the RMA collection. Exploring perspective, contour, and composition, participants will create finished artworks for their portfolio and learn about the symbolic meaning of plants and animals in Himalayan art. The program includes special tours of the collection.
