Brainwave Films

Starting February 2012 Brainwave begins and will focus on how memory is processed in the brain. Besides Cabaret Cinema, two documentary films have been chosen to further inform this series.  Just Trial and Error which begins on February 15 and Caris' Peace (pictured) which premieres on March 7
 

 

Gutbucket: Tibet in Comics

Projections of the panels of the comic book The Magic Life of Milarepa by Eva van Dam will be accompanied by a live score by Brooklyn-based noise band Gutbucket. Friday, April 13!

 

Prince of the Himalayas

The first theatrical screenings in the US of Sherwood Hu's exhilarating high-altitude Hamlet.  Set in ancient Tibet under the shadow of the Himalayas, the film is a visually ravishing historical epic with stunning scenery, richly saturated color, and lush costuming.   • The museum is closed on Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Day.
