The Search Beyond is about continuing Buddhist practice in India. It covers Orissa, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Ladakh, Spiti, and Kinnaur. Much of the film is devoted to the monastic masked dance called cham.

This series of films by Benoy K. Behl is the first that depicts all of the ancient Buddhist sites of India as well as other Asian countries. The story of the Buddha and of the development of Buddhism is traced through the art and architecture of over one hundred major monuments. The series is presented as a complement to the new exhibition From India East.
About the Speaker
Roman Palitsky, MDiv lives in New York City, where he teaches the study of religion, writes, and is a yoga instructor. His research interests include South Asian religion, yoga, and psychology.
