Valerie Franco is an academic and commentator in the field of film and the entertainment industry. Her work on gender and  ethnicity in film appears in entertainment & c publications as well as on her blog, profvalfranco.wordpress.com. Professor Franco teaches and lectures extensively on movies in the U. S. and Europe. Most recently, she has presented her research on images of dance in Italian cinema for an international conference on dance choreographer Jose Limon.  A recipient of Eastman-Kodak's Champagne Award for her feature film screenplay, Remembering Mario, starring Dom DeLuise and Frank Vincent, she has also received numerous awards and grants for her academic work. She is very pleased to be here with us at Cabaret Cinema at the Rubin Museum of Art.
