What goes on in the mind of a hypnotized person? Are the effects comparable to those reached through meditation? Formerly a magician in his native Israel, psychiatry professor Amir Raz explores the potential of hypnosis in a clinical setting and compares his findings with those of Zen Buddhist meditation teacher Geoffrey Shugen Arnold. Shugen heads the Fire Lotus Zendo in Brooklyn which is the New York center for the Zen Mountain Monastery.

  • The museum is closed on Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Day.
