The premiere of two dance films by John Bush, featuring the choreography of Nadine Helstroffer. Screening will include a discussion and Q&A with Bush, Helstroffer, and Buddhist psychotherapist Michael Vincent Miller, PhD.

ABSENCE PRESENCE

A commissioned dance performance by Nadine Helstroffer on the gallery floor of the exhibition Eternal Presence: Handprints and Footprints in Buddhist Art at the Rubin Museum of Art. The film unfolds within the synergy of dance and the richness of Tibetan painting. The dancer becomes a moving vessel where presence and absence manifest.

DREAM ON ME

Four dancers linger by the seashore in a casino half in ruins and soon fall asleep.  Who is dreaming whom? Following the dream's  journey, freed of the bonds of time and space, they meet within colorful allegories of loss, impermanence, and redemption.  Shot entirely outdoors in New York City and environs.
