Jacob's Ladder
Cabaret Cinema

Friday January 29, 2010 @ 9:30 PM

Adrian Lyne, U.S., 1990 (115 min)

Lyne inverts the biblical ladder and leads us into the terrifying hell on earth of Vietnam veteran Jacob Singer (Tim Robbins). Bizarre hallucinations pile up as Singer seeks to determine the true meaning of his aborted tour. Co-opting biblical imagery to express Eastern ideas about the nature of good and evil, dyadic symbolism abounds in this cinematic journey into the unconscious.
