Roman Polanski, UK, 1965 (104 min)

Polanski's first English language film is a shocking horror experiment about a woman's (Catherine Deneuve) slide into mental torment due to sexual repression. Her paranoia has deadly consequences, yet she remains the unwilling victim of her psychosis throughout.  This film is widely considered to be one of the great psychological thrillers.
