Free Thematic Tours

Taste of RMA free thematic tours are offered every weekday at 3:00 p.m. and at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. These tours are thematic in nature, taking visitors on a journey through Himalayan art and exploring process, materials, iconography, religion, regional influence, and art history. 

Tours offer introductions to Himalayan art through the lens of a particular theme framed by the interest of the museum educator. Some examples of tours offered include: Female Emanations in Himalayan Art, Eyes in Himalayan Art, Ornamentation and Sacred Jewelry, and An Introduction to Buddhist Iconography.

Tours are one hour in length and meet at the bottom of the spiral staircase in the museum's lobby.
