Sundar Das (bansuri) + John Guth (guitar)
Sundar Das is a bansuri flute player who has accompanied many Kirtan singers including Krishna Das, Shyam Das, Wah, David Newman (Durga Das) & Mira and Jai Uttal. Among his accomplishments, Sundar composes soundtracks for multimedia yoga programs and film and he has played flute on a recently Grammy Nominated album. Currently, Sundar plays live flute music for many yoga classes in NYC. He also performs at Buddhist benefits and retreats as well as other yoga gatherings. Sundar has been practicing Yoga and devotional chanting since 1971 and lived in an ashram for 16 years both in the U.S. and in India where music composing, playing and recording was his selfless service.
Singer-songwriter John Guth is a guitarist and composer as well as an accomplished producer and audio engineer. He has toured and/or recorded with many well-known artists including Bob Gibson, Tom Paxton, Mimi Farina, Susanne Vega, Judy Collins, Red Grammer, Tom Chapin, Paul Winter, Galt MacDermot, Michael Wolff, Jordan Rudess, and Peter Allen. His music opens and closes the Grammy winning audio book production of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He recorded, mixed and mastered and played guitar on the 2005 Grammy nominated CD Some Assembly Required by Tom Chapin. In progress is an album of John’s songs featuring the amazing Howard Levy on harmonica.
