About the Artists

Rigdzin Collins, violin

Rigdzin is a graduate of the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, where she studied with John Blake, Reggie Workman, Buster Williams, Bobby Sanabria and Jane Ira Bloom. ?Her musical style blends the traditions of jazz, soul and Indianapolis hard-bop with elements of Himalayan music.

 

Ben Meigners, bass

Since 2003, American-Israeli bassist Ben Meigners has been a prominent member of the New York jazz scene. He has worked with Roy Hargrove, Andy Bey, Billy Kaye, Saul Rubin, Freddie Redd, Slide Hampton, The Fat Cat Big Band, Valerie Panomarev, Kim Thompson, and Grant Stewart. In 2010, he was also sent abroad, as part of the US State Department’s Rhythm Road tours to Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine, Israel, and South Sudan. He can frequently be heard playing in NYC with his band.

  • The museum is closed on Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Day.
