About the Speaker

Ioana Carcea is a postdoctoral scientist at New York University School of Medicine where she works with Dr. Robert Froemke on understanding the neuronal circuitry subserving auditory perception and cognitive flexibility in animal models. Previously she received a doctoral degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York where she completed her thesis on molecular mechanisms leading to correct circuit assembly during development in the laboratory of Dr. Deanna Benson. She also received an undergraduate medical degree from “Gr.T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi, Romania.
